Dr. Robyn Flores specializes in providing ethical and affirming care to individuals at the intersection of Autism/ADHD and Erotic Marginalization. Her approach is holistic, integrating various therapeutic modalities to best meet the unique needs of each client. She presents at conferences, aiming to challenge medical gaslighting for neurodivergent, kinky women, and educates healthcare and medical providers on trauma-infused care.

She has extensive, advanced training in neuroanatomy, neurobiology, sex therapy and counseling sexology, ethical and legal issues in clinical mental health counseling and marriage and family therapy, and inner child trauma/play therapy for adults who have experienced childhood harm, neglect, and abuse.

Dr. Flores works with individuals and relational dynamics of all types. Many of her clients, being neurodivergent, also partake in relational styles that differ from conventional relationships. She enjoys working with partnerships who seek meaning in their intimacy and authenticity.

Dr. Flores also works with adults who have experienced childhood abuse, sexual harm, and other wounds experienced during their younger years. She understands that the traumatized brain seeks a "safe enough" space to heal. She works to cultivate "safe enough" with her clients through the rediscovery of the inner child and addressing unmet needs. She integrates art, imagination, and curiosity while helping her clients develop and redefine a sense of childlike wonder.

Dr. Flores has a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision with a specialization in advanced clinical skills (play therapy, human sexuality, mindfulness, and advanced trauma training).

Dr. Flores uses a systemic lens in supervision that intersects with ethical principles of Kitchener (1984): beneficence, nonmaleficence, autonomy, justice, fidelity, and - added to the ACA (2014) Preamble - veracity. She documents progress using this lens as well as the Integrated Developmental Model (IDM) for counseling supervisees.

She understands that isomorphism is an essential process. Dr. Flores diligently works to ensure that the supervision she provides utilizes a trauma-trained lens.
